International Anti-Corruption Day is observed annually across the globe on December 9.The United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) passed it on October 31, 2003 to raise public awareness for anti-corruption. The day aims to raise public awareness of corruption and what people can do to fight it. India has improved its ranking on a global corruption index in 2018. While China lagged far behind, as per an annual index released by an anti-graft watchdog in 2018. India rose by three points to 78 in the list of 180 countries in the world. China ranked 87 and Pakistan 117 in 2018 as per the Transparency International in its Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) for 2018.
