The entire world has been hit hard by a second wave of COVID-19.
In fact, some countries are shattering their single day highs on an almost daily basis.
As the numbers continues to spike,... health experts are continuing to stress the importance of wearing face masks.
Lee Seung-jae reports.
The world is facing an even worse second wave of COVID-19 infections than the initial outbreak earlier this year.
Leading the number of cases is the United States,... which reached an all-time high seven-day average of 68-thousand-767 on Sunday.
The previous record was slightly over 67-thousand in July.
The week was also marked by two of the worst days since the pandemic began,... with more than 83-thousand cases on Friday and Saturday.
Europe has also seen a massive uptick,... with infections rising for more than 90 days, according to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control.
Spain and France each surpassed one million cumulative cases last week and a number of others, including Italy, Germany and the Czech Republic, are experiencing record numbers.
While new regulations and social distancing rules are being introduced in European countries,... many Asian countries are loosening their measures.
Health experts say the global resurgence hasn't been as bad in Asia,... as many people in these countries use face masks on a regular basis.
It cited India,... which at one point in September reported over 100-thousand cases on a single day.
It saw its numbers in October dip to the 40 to 50 thousand range.
