R.K Nagar is formed in the year 1973, three group of people club together in this constituency. R.K Nagar faced its first election on 1977 MGR contesting for ADMK and Karunanidhi from DMK. In 1980 DMK alliance with Congress and ADMK alliance with communist parties and DMK tastes the victory in this election.1984 everything changed upside down as ADMK wins election. 1989 turns to be an important election as MGR passed away ADMK got split into two as Jayalalaitha team and Janaki team, which had become easy winning point for DMK. 1991 another important elections for TN, Two teams of ADMK got merged together and defeats DMK and Jayalalithaa crowned as CM of Tamilnadu for the first time. 1996 Rajinkanth supported DMK and PMK in that election DMK wins over ADMK. 2001 game changes yet again and ADMK wins again. 2006 DMK wins. 2011 and 2016 ADMK takes the lead and conquered R.K Nagar. After the death of Jayalalitha R.K Nagar stood without the MLA. Election commission announced elections on april, after coming to know that residents are being bribed for votes, EC cancelled the election. By ADMK contested with two different teams they are EPS team and OPS team, TTV Dhinakaran from EPS team and Madhusudanan from OPS team. Two leaves symbol was taken away from TTV as he gave 890 Crores for getting that symbol for him and he got arrested as well. After many issues EPS-OPS got merged and they got the two leaves symbol for them as well. EC announced 21 st is the election date for R.K Nagar elections. Lets wait and watch to know who is going yo win in this elections.
