Police have arrested six persons on Friday over the death of a local man, who was shot by a local BJP leader in Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia district. The man was shot during a heated argument over allotment of ration shops in the village on Thursday. The shooting took place at an event in Ballia, in which the local police, sub-divisional magistrate and the circle officer were present. At least 20 persons have been named in the police complaint. Meanwhile, Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh demanded an NCB probe into actor Vivek Oberoi’s alleged ties to the Sandalwood drug scandal. Deshmukh said on Friday that if the NCB refuses to investigate the actor in the matter then the Mumbai Police will. Watch Newstrack with Rahul Kanwal for more.
