The reigning defensive player of the year, Stephon Gilmore, has received some criticism through the first three weeks of the New England Patriots' season for a slight decline in play. Gilmore has committed three pass interference penalties already this season after being called for just one all of 2019. The cornerback was also burned by Nelson Agholor against the Raiders on Sunday, a player he should have dominated.
