The new Women’s Spring Summer 2021 “Patchwork di Sicilia” is a tribute to Sicily, always very dear to the Designers.
They wanted to story tell, using their long experience and understanding,
this island which is characterized by Spanish, Arabic, Norman and French dominations and treasuring the diversity that came with them.
Stefano and Domenico narrate about what you find in cities like Palermo, Catania, Siracusa and Agrigento, creating pieces as patchwork: a mix of fabrics, atmospheres, colours, different qualities of brocades, poplin, georgette and chiffon.
In this SS21 collection, the Designers captured their experience of “Fatto a Mano”, of the craftsmanship.
They hope the young generation could treasure the arts, the handmade crafts, a more “sustainable” fashion.
The message of our designers is that new life can be given to old pieces, creating something new and unique.
Each piece is crafted and interpreted by a skilled hand, so that each piece has its own personality, story, passion becoming unique.
Each artisan, each tailor sewn together fabrics in different ways according to shapes and colours. At the end of this exploration, of this work body “ Patchwork di Sicilia”, the Designers realised the similarities with their collection in 1993 which was inspired by the ‘70s; starting from the archives they recreated the same jacket, the same gilet, same skirt and shirt, same trousers…with a new vision, this is no longer fashion but style.
In this collection, the outfits have new proportions, different fabrics, new colours, with new fresh eyes: not any more a 70s inspiration but this is a cultural approach which blends together different cultures to create each piece as a real “one of a kind”.
