Time now for 'This Week in Sports' with our Sports editor Paul Neat joining us in the studio. Paul, first of all, it turned out to be quite the weekend for South Korean national football team captain Son Heung-min...
Hi Conn-young. Yes, it was a 'Super Son-day' for Tottenham Hotspur who came from behind to beat Southampton 5-2 with Son Heung-min scoring four. Son equalized on the stroke of half time from an acute angle before finding the net again just two minutes after the restart to turn the game on its head. Son sealed his hat-trick on 64 minutes before a fourth came on 73 minutes.

Three teams had the chance of finishing in the top six but it was newly-promoted Gwangju FC that was able to seal a place in 'Final Round A' on goals scored...thanks to a 2-0 win over Seongnam. This was at the expense of FC Seoul who, needing a win, drew 0-0 with Daegu FC as well as Gangwon FC who lost 2-1 to Suwon Bluewings. There are just five rounds remaining, the first of which is due to be played this coming weekend.
To baseball now where the regular season in KBO is also heading towards the business end with just one month remaining...

Wild card contenders Kia Tigers lost 11-3 to bottom placed Hanwha Eagles on Sunday, and Lotte Giants were defeated in a double header against leaders NC Dinos. However, fourth played fifth on Sunday, LG at Dooson, with the Bears emerging as 6-5 winners. Very much all to play for in KBO.
To basketball and the KBL which got underway over the weekend.
Yes, on Sunday the first ever KBL Cup got up and running - a precursor to the regular season which begins on October 9th. On Sunday, Changwon LG beat Ulsan Hyundai Mobis 99-93 and Goyang Orion beat Sangmu 101-72. Earlier on this Monday, Seoul SK versus Incheon Electroland ended 86-83 while Jeonju KCC versus Seoul Samsung is being played as we speak.
