Karni Mata Temple, Rajasthan (temple of rats) At about 30 km from Bikaner, stands the Karni Mata Temple that is said to house over 20,000 rats. Called kabbas these holy rats are revered as reincarnated family members of Karni Mata. Eating the food that is nibbled on by the rats is considered to be a high honour.
