The petition was filed against the former MPs and former MLAs of the country for pending criminal cases. The hearing was held in the country's largest court, the Supreme Court. During the hearing, the Supreme Court has expressed surprise that the criminal case against a Punjab leader has been pending for 37 years. At the same time, the figures of pending criminal cases against former MPs and former MLAs of the country have expressed their displeasure. There are 4242 cases pending on politicians in 24 high courts of the country.

देश के पूर्व सांसदों और पूर्व विधायकों के खिलाफ लंबित आपराधिक मामलों को लेकर दाखिल याचिका पर सुनवाई हुई. सुनवाई देश की सबसे बड़ी अदालत सुप्रीम कोर्ट में हुई. सुनवाई के दौरान सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने इस बात पर आश्चर्य जताया है कि पंजाब के एक नेता के खिलाफ क्रिमिनल केस 37 सालों से पेंडिंग है. वहीं देश के पूर्व सांसदों और पूर्व विधायकों के खिलाफ लंबित आपराधिक मामलों की आंकड़ों पर नाराजगी जताई है. देश के कुल 24 हाईकोर्ट में राजनेताओं पर 4242 मामले लंबित है.
