Plainclothes police officers in Hong Kong were seen arresting protesters in Mong Kok on Sunday (September 6).

Footage shows one protester subdued by multiple officers on an intersection by Shantung Street, as another is dragged away, during what was supposed to be a peaceful demonstration.

Protesters took to the streets to express dismay at the recent postponement of the LegCo elections.

The filmer explained: "Online calls went out to call for a peaceful march from Jordan to Mong Kok, but any attempt to organize the march was quashed by the police who sliced Nathan road in several cordons to carry out stop and searches of bystanders and protesters.

"Later, some protesters attempted to block the streets with some rubbish, leading to the arrests seen in this video."
