Reports suggest that on the intervening night of August 29 & 30, the Indian Army thwarted attempts by the PLA to capture territory in south Pangong in eastern Ladakh. It is to be noted that both India and China have been engaged in a military standoff along the LAC since May of this year. As the Indian Army has established its position on the key points, China is furious. As India is aggressive and dominant, China sought peace talks.
