Chinese President Xi Jinping and government officials on September 3, 2020 commemorated the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II in the Pacific. Japan launched a full-on invasion of China in 1937. It formally surrendered aboard the US Navy battleship USS Missouri on September 2, 1945, while China marks the end of the war on September 3.
