Pitrupaksha will start from 1 September. Although the ancestors are offered on the new moon every month, but the time of Pitru Paksha is completely dedicated to the fathers. The offering of ancestors in the shraddh results in the attainment of virtuous fruit and blessings of the ancestors. Shraddha refers to reverence to the ancestors.

पितृपक्ष की शुरूआत 1 सितंबर से होगी. वैसे तो हर माह की अमावस्या पर पितरों का तर्पण किया जाता है लेकिन पितृ पक्ष का समय पूरी तरह से पितरों को समर्पित है. श्राद्ध में पितरों का तर्पण करने से पुण्य फल की प्राप्ति होती है और पितरों का आशीर्वाद भी मिलता है. श्राद्ध का तात्पर्य पितरों के प्रति प्रकट की जाने वाली श्रद्धा से है. पितृ पक्ष में दान का भी बहुत महत्व है, मान्यता है की दान से पितरों की आत्मा को संतृष्टि मिलती है और पृत दोष भी खत्म होता है |
