태풍 ‘바비’ 서해 가로질러 북상

We begin this morning with the typhoon passing over the Korean Peninsula this morning.
Typhoon Bavi moved north overnight and as we speak,... it is now passing up the mainland.
The southern part of the peninsula has already taken the worst hit.
The eye of the storm has already moved toward the northern part of the Korean Peninsula,... but the greater capital region still is under the storm's influence.
For this, we have our Kim Do-yeon outside at a pier west of Seoul to give us a clearer picture.
Do-yeon, first... have you witnessed any damage?
Good morning, Semin.
I'm at Yeonan Pier in Incheon, and the eye of Typhoon Bavi passed by a couple of hours ago here and thankfully I've only seen a few broken branches and some light objects flying through the air.
As you can see behind me,... you do still see some boats rocking as the wind is at 34.7 kilometers per hour... and the port here is yet to make a decision on whether to allow ferries to operate in the morning.
The rain fall is slowing down and is expected to stop in the next hour or so.
At one point, we expected up to 150 millimeters of rain here and in the western coast islands.
Do-yeon, you mentioned the worst has passed.
But still does the conditions in the capital region going to be much of a hastle for many getting ready to get to work this morning?
Semin, doesn't seem like that for now.
At 5 AM this morning, about two hours ago,... Seoul was bracing for the worst, but the city thankfully didn't see much wind and rain.
The typhoon continues to head north, yet commuters will feel the gustier winds with expected wind speeds of up to 93 kilometer an hour at certain areas with light showers.
As for the typhoon, it has crossed the border into North Korea near Ongjin Peninsula with the central pressure of 955 hPa (HectoPascals).
That's all I have for you at this hour.
Back to you, Semin
