Government insists millions of rands spent on housing structures has been money well spent. This is despite some residents rejecting them. The two-room shacks are made from corrugated iron, and stand on raised bricks. They were first built in Limpopo and just recently in Gauteng. The shacks cost over R60,000 rand each.
