Flash flooding in northern Vietnam's Dien Bien Phu left a school and many houses in ruins.

Footage from August 17 shows rapid floodwater surrounding several structures as locals look on helplessly.

A nearby bridge was also washed away leaving three villages isolated. Locals have said this is the worst flood they have ever seen.

Fortunately, the students were on vacation.
