The issue of alleged mismanagement by leaders of Lembaga Tabung Haji saw two former ministers locking horns in Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday.
Parit Buntar MP Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa, who is the former religious affairs minister in charge of Tabung Haji, claimed that the fund’s asset has been lower than its liability since 2014, which had resulted in its hibah (profits) not being able to be taken out.
He highlighted that a special audit by PricewaterhouseCoopers revealed that TH's actual impairment charges for 2017 amounted to RM10bil, and not RM4.1bil.
He was later interjected by Umno’s Baling MP Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim, who is the former TH chairman during that period of time.
