Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced on Monday (March 23) that the government will be allocating an additional RM500 million to the Health Ministry to fight the Covid-19 pandemic which includes purchasing ventilators, Intensive Care Unit equipment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for medical workers.

An additional RM100 million will be allocated for the hiring of 2,000 contract staff.
