Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali denies allegations that the Economic Action Council (EAC) was created due to the Prime Minister's dissatisfaction with the current Cabinet's performance.

Azmin said that Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad wanted to create an economic action council that was action-orientated to plan effective implementation strategies for long- and medium-term policies.
