Opposition leader Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said it is important to put the interest and harmony of the Johor people first, instead of being too rigid with the law.

Ismail said it was best if the Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad could settle the issue over the appointment of Johor Mentri Besar with the Sultan of Johor.
