During a question-and-answer session held in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, a resident revealed that the grand mosque in the vicinity was built using money from the controversial 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB). Chairman of the Council of the Eminent Persons Tun Daim Zainuddin urged the Kampung Baru residents to defend their heritage and not allow outsiders to take over the management of their own mosque.
