It seems enthusiasm is not lacking in the Balakong by-election as voters lined up as early as 7am on Saturday (Sept 8), an hour before polling stations were officially opened. The state by-election was called following the death of its incumbent assemblyman Eddie Ng Tien Chee in a road accident on July 20.
