Red Shirts leader Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos has submitted a proposal to Bersih chairman Maria Chin Abdullah for a possible settlement over a defamation suit. In her suit, Maria claimed that Jamal uttered slanderous words against Bersih in September and October 2016, linking the organisation to the Islamic State.
