A man rescued a fruit bat after it got entangled in a kite string in northern India's Uttarakhand.
The incident took place on Tilak road in Dehradun on August 12.
Vishal Uniyal noticed the bat stuck on a mango tree after it got entangled in a kite string.
He used a stick to bring the bat down to the ground, following which he called Arshad Alam, herpetologist and the head of the wildlife Quick Response Team (QRT).
The video shows Alam rescuing the bat and cutting it free from the thick bush. Following this, he applied antiseptic cream to its wings and wrapped the bat in a small cloth. He then placed the bat inside a dark box and let it be.
The bat was released shortly after.
