Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar says Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is being investigated for criminal defamation over his statement comparing Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to Ugandan dictator Idi Amin Dada.
Khalid said the investigation on the former prime minister was launched after a police report was lodged.
