During his visit to the USS Arizona Memorial in Hawaii on Dec 27, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe offered the "sincere and everlasting condolences" of the Japanese people to those who died in the attack on Pearl Harbor, while US President Barack Obama wished to see a strong alliance between the two countries.
