모리셔스 해안 좌초...일본 배서 기름 거의 다 제거
Almost all the remaining oil from the Japanese cargo ship that has caused a massive oil spill after it ran aground off the coast of Mauritius... has been pumped out.
The island nation's Prime Minister said more than three thousand tons of oil from the ship's fuel tanks had been pumped out, and only a small amount remained on board somewhere else.
He added the operation had been a "race against time", amid fears the ship could break in two.
The fuel was transferred to shore by helicopter, and to another ship owned by the same Japanese firm of the stranded ship.
The ship ran aground on a coral reef on July 25th and caused massive environmental damage to the island nation home to world-renowned coral reefs.
