벨라루스 시민 5천명 ‘대선 결과 불복 시위’로 체포...야권후보 티하놉스카야 출국
Violent clashes between police and protesters continue in Belarus, over the controversial Presidential election results that granted a sixth term to its incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko.
Local officials said one demonstrator died when an explosive device went off in his hands, and hundreds have been injured.
Thousands of people have also been arrested.
Lukashenko, who has ruled the country since 1994 with the nickname "Europe's last dictator", won more than 80 percent of the vote in Sunday's presidential election.
His main rival received less than 10 percent.
That candidate, who publicly rejected the early results, claiming they were rigged... has fled to Lithuania, citing the safety of her children.
