Indonesia’s Sinabung volcano erupts, dumping ash on surrounding villages

Indonesia's Mount Sinabung erupted on August 10, 2020. The volcano on Sumatra island belched a massive column of ash and smoke 5km (3 miles) into the air and plunged local communities into darkness as a thick layer of debris fell. Mount Sinabung has been active for a number of years.
