The sea water has turned black due to the leakage of several tons of fuel from a ship owned by Japan stranded off the coast by Mauritius. People are busy cleaning the sea. At the same time, the government of Mauritius declared "a state of environmental emergency" late at night. Pictures taken from the satellite showed dark oily matter spreading in blue waters near environmental areas that the government described as "extremely sensitive".

मॉरीशस ने तट पर फंसे जापान के स्वामित्व वाले एक जहाज से कई टन ईंधन के रिसाव होने से समुंद्र का पानी काला हो गया है. लोग समुंद्र को साफ करने में जुटे हुए हैं. वहीं मॉरीशस की सरकार ने देर रात ''पर्यावरणीय आपातकाल की स्थिति” घोषित कर दी। उपग्रह से ली गई तस्वीरों में उन पर्यावरणीय इलाकों के पास नीले जल में गहरे रंग का तैलीय पदार्थ फैलता दिखा जिन्हें सरकार ने “बेहद संवेदनशील” बताया।
