Tequila is an alcohol derived from the blue agave plant.
The plant features a core called piña, which closely resembles a pineapple.
Once the piña is harvested, it is brought to a distillery to be roasted to unleash its juices.
Once those juices are released, they are fermented, distilled and aged before being bottled.
In order to be labeled tequila, the production of the liquor has to occur in the state of Jalisco or in some neighboring states.
