There are now fewer than 100 days left until the U.S. presidential election in November.
As COVID-19 continues to be an issue, the results could depend on the way how the virus is handled.
Candidates have also had to change their campaigning methods due to the virus.
Our Kim Do-yeon has the details.
With 100 days to go until the U.S. Presidential Election, Democratic candidate Joe Biden leads the polls, nearly 9 percentage points ahead of President Donald Trump.
That's according to Real Clear Politics' average of national polls.
However, experts say President Trump could turn things around if he can get on top of the current COVID-19 situation.
By lowering the number of cases and the mortality rate, the president could change the public's view of the White House's response to the crisis.
The economy could also be a game changer.
"And the second important factor is obviously the economy. And whether the government's policies on managing the economy and the downturn of the economy and the recovery can have subsequent impact on voter confident or voter's assessment of President Trump."
Going against the polls is nothing new for the current president as he won the last presidential election despite most of the polls predicting otherwise.
However, things are different this year.
Due to the virus, he decided to cancel the Republican National Convention in Jacksonville, Florida, which is a must-win state for any Republican candidate.
This comes after he had moved most of the events from Charlotte, North Carolina, because state officials ruled out full-capacity events in the city.
Trump's challenger, Joe Biden has been noted for his small-sized events with social distancing measures... and his public appearances wearing face masks.
The Democratic National Convention is planned to be largely virtual as well.
As for the next few months, former vice president Biden will likely announce his running mate in August, and the first debate between Trump and Biden is currently scheduled for September 29th in Indiana.
