The holy month of Sawan has started. It is believed that the month of Sawan is very dear to Lord Shiva. In this month, Shiva devotees worship Lord Bhole Nath. On the morning of Savan Monday, people gather in the pagoda and offer Jalabhishek and other types of worship materials on the Shivling. In the month of Sawan, many types of sadhanas are performed to please Mahadev. It is believed that worshiping Shiva in the month of Sawan fulfills all desires. Lord Shiva also has to do some such sadhana, which is done in the month of Sawan. According to Shiva Purana, there are three major weapons in this universe - Pashupatastra, Narayanastra and Brahmastra. Lord Shiva has a four-pronged powerful divine weapon in addition to the trident, which is called Pashupatastra.

सावन का पवित्र महीना आरंभ हो चुका है। मान्यता है कि सावन का महीना भगवान शिव को बहुत ही प्रिय होता है। इस महीने में शिव भक्त भगवान भोले नाथ की विशेष आराधना करते हैं। सावन सोमवार के दिन सुबह से लोग शिवालयों में एकत्रित होकर शिवलिंग पर जलाभिषेक और अन्य तरह की पूजा सामग्रियों को अर्पित करते हैं। सावन के महीने में महादेव को प्रसन्न करने के लिए कई तरह की साधनाएं की जाती है। ऐसा माना जाता है कि सावन के महीने में शिवजी की पूजा करने से सभी तरह की मनोकामना पूरी होती है। भगवान शिव की कुछ ऐसी भी साधना होती है जिसको सावन के महीने में करने से बड़े से बड़े शत्रुओं पर विजय प्राप्त होती है। शिव पुराण के अनुसार इस ब्रह्राांड में तीन बड़े अस्त्र माने गए हैं- पशुपतास्त्र, नारायणास्त्र और ब्रह्मास्त्र। भगवान शिव के पास त्रिशूल के अलावा चार शूलों वाला परम शक्तिशाली दिव्य अस्त्र है, जिसे पशुपतास्त्र कहते हैं।
