Union HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said on Thursday that there has been a lot of uninformed commentary on the exclusion of some topics from the CBSE syllabus for Classes 9 to 12 for the 2020-21 session and requested to "leave politics out of education" . The comments by the minister came following a controversy over the reduction of syllabus by the CBSE due to the Covid-19 situation, with the opposition alleging that chapters on India's democracy and plurality are being "dropped" to propagate a particular ideology.

सीबीएसई के पाठ्यक्रम से कुछ टॉपिक्स हटाये जाने को लेकर केन्द्रीय मानव संसाधन मंत्री रमेश पोखरियाल निशंक ने कहा है कि इसपर राजनीति नहीं होनी चाहिए. उन्होंने कहा कि मनगढ़ंत बातें कर गलत प्रचार- प्रसार किया जा रहा है. दरअसल विपक्ष का आरोप है कि एक खास तरह की विचारधारा को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए भारत के लोकतंत्र और बहुलतावाद संबंधी पाठों को हटाया जा रहा है. निशंक ने इस संबंध में कई ट्वीट किए. उन्होंने लिखा कि,सीबीएसई के पाठ्यक्रम में कुछ टॉपिक्स को हटाये जाने के बारे में बहुत सी मनगढंत बातें की जा रही हैं. इन टिप्पणियों के साथ समस्या है कि वे गलत विमर्श को फैलाने के लिए चुनिंदा विषयों को जोड़कर सनसनीखेज बना रहे हैं.
