Sri Lankan cricketer Kusal Mendis was released on bail on Monday, a day after he was arrested for running over a pedestrian. The accident resulted in the death of the 64-year-old man.The Panadura Assistant Magistrate granted bail to Mendis on two sureties of 1 million Sri Lankan Rupees. He also ordered Mendis to compensate the family of the victim with Rs 1 million.

श्रीलंकाई क्रिकेटर कुशल मेंडिस को कोलंबो के पनादुरा में 5 जुलाई को हुई एक कार दुर्घटना मामले में गिरफ्तार किए जाने के एक दिन बाद जमानत पर रिहा कर दिया गया है। इस मामले में मेंडिस का अदालत में प्रतिनिधित्व करने वाले वकीलों ने पीड़ित के परिवार को 10 लाख रुपये देने पर सहमति जताई है। समझौते के मुताबिक पीड़ति परिवार को सोमवार को अदालत में दो लाख रुपये का प्रारंभिक भुगतान कर दिया गया।
