At least one rhinoceros has been killed as floodwaters inundate much of Pobitora, a wildlife sanctuary in India’s Assam state which is home to a vulnerable population of one-horn rhinos. The annual monsoon rains have triggered widespread flooding and forced tens of thousands of people from their homes.
