Powerful waves batter the coast of southern Thailand as the region was hit with tropical storms.

Footage from a beach in Trang province shows some of the damage inflicted on structures along the coastline by the strong winds and heavy rain, which lashed the area overnight.

Thailand has moved into its hot, annual rainy season, which sees violent rainstorms throughout the week until temperatures start to cool again towards the end of October.
