A new type of swine flu that has the potential to trigger a future pandemic has been discovered in China.
According to a Chinese research team, the so-called "G4 virus" is a genetic descendent from the same swine flu that caused a global pandemic in 2009.
Though there is no evidence yet to suggest that G4 can cause human-to-human transmissions, researchers have warned that it could adapt quickly and grow inside cells that line human airways.
More than 10-percent of pig farm workers in Hebei and Shandong provinces in China have tested positive for the virus.
