Humans aren’t the only creatures on Earth that mourn the loss of a loved one. A number of animals have been observed engaging in that behavior. In some cases, they groom them and, in others, they stand by and continue to defend them from predators. There are also grieving mothers who’ve been seen carrying their children for days, even when it threatened their own safety.
