미 국방차관보 대행 "미 北비핵화에 매우 초점…외교 강력선호"

A senior U.S. official has confirmed that Washington's policies towards North Korea are still very much focused on denuclearization.
Acting U.S. Assistant Secretary for Indo-Pacific security affairs, David Helvey, reaffirmed the Trump administration's stance at the virtual South Korea-U.S. Strategic Forum held by Korea Foundation and Center for Strategic and International Studies.
He added that Washington strongly favors denuclearization through diplomacy,... but says he's unsure whether North Korea is trying to move forward on the denuclearization agenda.
In response to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's decision to suspend military action plans against South Korea,... he said Pyeongyang is unpredictable and the regime's moves will continue to be closely monitored.
