日추가보복 예고에 당정 "소재부품장비 강화 속도전"
South Korea is vowing to preemptively respond to any further export curbs imposed by Japan.
It plans to accelerate the development of the local parts and equipment sector.
Meeting with government officials Wednesday, the ruling Democratic Party said it will revise related policies to do so.
The party said the industry is vital for future businesses and the newly-launched "New Deal initiative" that focuses on creating a data-based economy.
Enhancing private-public sector cooperation, expanding R&D and stabilizing supply networks were discussed.
This comes after Tokyo warned Seoul of tighter restrictions as their dispute rumbles on at the World Trade Organization.
