Only 42 days of water is left in the seven lakes and dams that supply drinking water to Mumbai. Due to relatively less rainfall in the first month of monsoon, the water level in the lakes has not increased. It is clear that there will be a shortage of water in the coming days.

कोरोना वायरस के कहर के बीच मुंबई के सामने एक और नई मुसीबत आने वाली है। आने वाले दिनों में मुंबई में जल सकंट खड़ा हो सकता है. मुंबई को पीने के पानी की सप्लाई करने वाले सात झीलों और बांधों में अब सिर्फ 42 दिनों का पानी बचा रह गया है. मॉनसून के पहले महीने में ही अपेक्षाकृत कम बारिश होने के कारण झीलों में जल स्तर बढ़ा नहीं है. ऐसे में साफ है कि आने वाले दिनों में पानी की किल्लत होगी.
