She says, "It was basically an economic reason because when I finished school in 1960 and I came back on holiday I found that financial circumstances were little strained in the family and my sister had already got married. I am an actress and I am comfortable in acting so It doesn't matter what role you do. it just depends on whether you can see yourself being that person that you are going to portray you have to be that person and I found I was very comfortable doing what I have done in my career whether it was comedy, whether it was Rona-Dhona. I did have that kind of image but I think I grew out of it. I think basically every human being's image as he/she goes through life changes as that person changes himself so the image changes. It depends on how you portray yourself. There are years of difference between 'Bhoot Bangla' and 'Do Chor'. Bhoot Bangla was right in the beginning of my career and it was a Black/White film but it was fun doing that film and Do Chor came at the end, just before I got married and it was great fun to do because I needed to do a couple of light roles, fun roles so it was good to do".
