The poor dog was fed raw eggs and vegetable oil bought from a nearby convenience store.

Unfortunately, the pooch could not make it even though the rider tried his best to save its life.

Resident Kitti Chansutthikul, 26, said the mongrel had been adored by most of the residents. He said: "It was sad that Kham Koon was harmed by vicious humans even though he had never harmed a single person."

Some neighbours become are belived to have been annoyed by the stray dogs wandering around the streets. One of them is said to have poisoned the dog by feeding it the deadly mixture.

Kham Khoon was put into a sack and taken to bury at nearby grass field.

Apichai Leo from the Sawang Prateep rescue team said: ''We are sure that Kham Khoon was poisoned. Only someone so cruel could trick a dog by feeding it harmful things.''
