Clashes as police surround a peaceful Black Lives Matter demonstration in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle on Sunday (June 7).

Protesters sat behind a barricade in the middle of a road can be heard continuously chanting "our streets" before Seattle police slowly approach and then disperse the crowd using flashbang grenades.

Video shows police forcibly removing some protesters, firing what appears to be pepper spray at some of them from close range and pushing at them with a police bicycle.

Filmer @menilivne on Twitter told Newsflare: "This has been going on underneath my apartment for several days now. Peaceful protesters stand in front of barriers that the police set up. Eventually, the police do something to provoke the protesters. Sometimes they approach them and start moving the barrier. This leads to a scuffle where the police use flashbangs, and in the past tear gas, too, against the protesters."
