A dog was rescued by helicopter after surviving a massive landslide that swept eight homes into the sea in Alta, Norway.

The landslide was the largest the area ever witnessed, measuring 800 metres in width and up to 40 metres in height.

Authorities say no one was harmed, despite serious damage to properties.
