수출규제 철회 요청에 무성의한 일본…정부 "곧 입장발표"
South Korea is set to announce its stance on Japan's tighter export curbs on three strategic materials used in semiconductors and displays... some time Tuesday.
This comes as Japan has not responded to South Korea's request to lift its export restrictions by the end of May.
Tokyo imposed the curbs in July last year in protest of the South Korean top court's ruling on Japan's wartime forced labor.
As no meaningful response has come from Japan, experts say South Korea will likely restart its complaint process at the World Trade Organization.
South Korea suspended its lawsuit filed with the WTO last November to try to resolve the matter peacefully.
