More than 100 people stood in solidarity Friday morning at the state Capitol to protest the killing of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer this week.
The incident has sparked nationwide demonstrations against police killings of African Americans. Demonstrators here said they were hurt and frustrated by Monday’s tragedy, which was documented by bystanders and widely shared on social media.
Lined up along South Beretania Street with fists raised, the protesters held signs that read, “No justice, no peace,” “When police murder, who are you gonna call?” and “Am I next?”
