University of California schools have announced they will no longer require SAT or ACT test scores for admission to their schools.
The university school system voted unanimously to gradually eliminate the use of standardized tests for admission.
According to HuffPost, the decision could cause a ripple effect at other U.S. universities.
University of California schools had already made the SAT and ACT optional for fall 2021 applicants.
According to the UC board of regents, the test will be phased out over the next several years.
By 2025, all SAT and ACT testing scores are to be eliminated from admissions criteria.
