Senior White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett spread some gloomy news Sunday about the US economy.
Appearing on CNN's 'State of the Union,' Hassett said US unemployment rates are likely to spike in June at 'north of 20%.'
According to Business Insider, Hassett also said unemployment could still be in the double digits through November.
November coincides with the US general election, and tens of millions of jobless Americans could spell trouble for President Donald Trump.
Overall, 43 states set historic levels of unemployment in April. The worst hit were Nevada, Michigan, and Hawaii.
